Service projects are an important part of the spiritual formation of our students and faculty and exemplify our school's mission: to demonstrate Christ's love. Some of our annual service projects are:
Kathy Overbay Service Day
Each spring, the NCS community participates in a special day of service to honor Kathy Overbay and her faithful life of over 42 years of prayer and service at Nashville Christian. All administrators, faculty, staff, and K-12 students serve across the Nashville area. Areas of service include:
- cleaning the yards and homes of individuals who are financially and/or physically burdened
- assisting multiple local non-profit organizations that depend on volunteers and in kind services
- visiting, encouraging, and entertaining those who are physically handicapped and/or advanced in years
- beautifying local parks, public amenities, and our very own NCS campus
Warm Coats From Warm Hearts
Nashville Christian School collects winter coats (infant through adult sizes) and Bibles for “Warm Coats from Warm Hearts,” an annual program that is sponsored by the Granny White Church of Christ. Each year, thousands of coats and Bibles are given to those less fortunate in our area. Uplifting-handwritten notes are placed in each donated coat pocket. For more information about this heart-warming service project please contact Mrs. Forehand at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Canned Food Drives
Each year, NCS students gather canned goods and deliver them to local food banks for the hungry in Nashville.
Hoops For Hope
This annual event takes place each basketball season. Money is raised to support NCS families who are struggling with breast cancer and those whose lives were cut short are remembered and honored.
