LIFE Program

• Demonstrate academic challenges or are performing below their potential
• Have been diagnosed with learning differences that impact academic progress
• Experience attention-related challenges, including characteristics associated with ADHD (inattentive, hyperactive, or combined types)
• Are identified on the autism spectrum, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental profiles
• Have specific learning disabilities in areas such as reading, mathematics, or written expression
• Have medical or health-related conditions that affect learning
• Experience processing differences, including auditory, visual, or sensory processing challenges
• Have other individualized learning needs that require additional support

Students participating in LIFE Services are encouraged to:

• Engage actively in the learning process, developing habits that foster independence, responsibility, and personal growth
• Advocate for their individual needs, building confidence in communicating and utilizing appropriate supports
• Participate in the development of their Academic Support Plan (ASP), when developmentally appropriate
• Take increasing ownership of their learning, particularly as they prepare for high school and beyond
• Attend and contribute to annual ASP meetings, along with additional meetings focused on progress and goal-setting
• Develop an understanding of their unique learning profile, including strengths, challenges, and the supports that best help them succeed
• Recognize how academic support services connect to future goals, including college planning or vocational pathways after graduation
• Pursue involvement in extracurricular opportunities, fostering well-rounded growth and community connection
• Embrace other responsibilities as appropriate, based on individual needs and readiness

Parents play a vital role in supporting student success through LIFE Services by:

• Partnering with NCS administration, supporting decisions that are made in the best interest of student growth and development
• Collaborating with teachers, reinforcing classroom expectations and instructional strategies at home
• Encouraging student accountability, helping students take responsibility for completing assignments, preparing for assessments, and giving their best effort
• Supporting consistent communication, staying engaged with teachers and school staff regarding progress and needs
• Promoting involvement in extracurricular opportunities, encouraging students to explore interests, build confidence, and develop relationships
• Upholding a team approach, working alongside NCS to support each student’s academic, social, and spiritual growth
• Embracing additional responsibilities as needed, based on the individual needs of their child

Students receiving LIFE Services are assessed an additional fee beyond the standard tuition. Fees are based on the level of support provided and are determined through a collaborative process involving the student’s psychoeducational evaluation, Academic Support Plan (ASP), and the LIFE team (parents, teachers, LIFE instructors, school administration, and Head of School).

Consultation, Intervention & Accommodations

• Grades K–2: $1,450 per year
• Grades 3–12 (Accommodations): $1,650 per year

Dual Instruction & Modifications (5th - 12th Grade)

Students are placed in a general education classroom supported by both the classroom teacher and a LIFE-certified educator or assistant, who provides targeted instruction and/or curriculum modifications.

LIFE Classes (3rd - 12th Grade)

Students are enrolled in a separate LIFE class taught by a certified special education teacher in a small group setting, focused on individualized instruction and skill development.
