Auditions:  First, you need to sign up for a 3o-minute time slot (though you should prepare for the entire process to take about an hour). There can be up to five people in each slot. Please have a short song or cut from a song prepared for the audition. Accompaniment is not necessary but is appreciated. You will also be required to learn a short dance combination.

NOTE for Elementary and Middle School Students:  Newsies is primarily a high school show, and high schoolers will take precedence in the casting. However, a small number of both elementary and middle school students will be cast. The high school production is an intense, fun, challenging, and FOCUSED opportunity. Our cast will be capped at 45-50 students.

More Information about Newsies:
Based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, this Disney musical tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys' expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from the beautiful female reporter Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon recognizes the power of “the little man.”
