Alumnus Tanner Justice and parents Brian and Lisa shared in High School chapel about Tanner's senior year (2007-2008) and not knowing why he had suddenly become blind. The original prognosis was cancer or aids.

Brian said he went to his knees in prayer when the doctor told him. It took several months before a new doctor asked about Tanner's contacts which Lisa said she was glad she had saved. This led to a proper diagnosis of his rare eye disease that only one in three hundred thousand get upon contact, and usually in only one eye. Tanner was affected in both eyes. He eventually began regaining his sight after much medical treatment and prayer.

Brian mentioned the encouraging notes they would receive from people in states far away who said they were praying. Throughout the journey, the Justices shared about the difficulty of not knowing the outcome and of having to put their faith entirely in the Lord and His plan. Tanner concluded the testimony and message with encouraging every person to not take their life and health for granted, and to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, because we are all dying each day.
