On February 18 over 18 members of our NCS community served 12 homeless men at Bellevue United Methodist Chruch. “It felt more like a family reunion than a collection of strangers coming together for the first time,” said one participant.

"Our time together that night left a wonderful aftertaste in my heart," reflected Tom Wright. "At one point during dinner I looked up, sat, and just listened to the pleasant hum of many diverse voices entangled in vibrant conversations.

The volunteers were comprised primarily of NCS students along with parents, administration, and faculty. Together they provided 12 homeless men with dinner, breakfast, lunch, valentine cards, laundry, showers, clothing, toiletries, medicine, and much more. Some served as inn keepers and stayed the night with the guests, while others chose to help clean-up early the next morning before church services began. A big thank-you also goes out to the NCS Student Council who helped hang posters and recruit students weeks before the event.
