The LIFE Program is available to students K-12 who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities or medical conditions requiring support services in the classroom setting. Provision of L.I.F.E. services is contingent upon student enrollment and teacher availability.
The LIFE Program Fee for Grades K-4 is $2,250 per subject per year.
The LIFE Program Fee for Grades 5-12 is determined by assessing each student's educational needs individually and shall not exceed $6,800.
The LIFE program serves students in grades K-5 by providing support and instruction in both inclusion settings and separate classroom environments. Instruction in language arts and math is available for students with learning differences in a smaller setting while other subjects are taught in a regular classroom. Students participating in the LIFE program may receive modifications on testing and all subjects in either setting. This allows for differentiated instruction to occur and for the students to find success in areas of difficulty.
The LIFE program serves students in grades 6-8 by providing support and instruction in both inclusion settings and separate classroom environments. Instruction in core subjects is available for students with learning differences in a smaller setting. Students participating in the LIFE program may receive modifications on testing in all subjects, both core and enrichment, in either the smaller setting or in the regular classroom. This allows instruction in multiple modalities allowing students to learn while addressing both their strengths and weaknesses.
The LIFE program is structured to provide secondary instruction for students with learning differences in a classroom with a small student-teacher ratio. State standards are included in the design of the science, math, English, Spanish, and humanities curriculums, which include a variety of instructional strategies and the use of manipulatives. For classes not included under the LIFE umbrella in some circumstances, a teaching assistant is placed in classes to facilitate a successful learning environment. The LIFE program attempts to include classroom instruction in all areas required by the state for a regular education diploma. In addition, the LIFE program offers a transitions program, which includes the core subjects as well as life skills instruction. The instruction is geared to include field experience as appropriate and available.
